>>Everything You Need to Know to Create Your Amazon Baby Registry

You have plenty of online registry options, but we have one favorite, hands down: the Amazon Baby Registry. You’ve probably already discovered the convenience that is Amazon Prime (no judgment here if you find it’s easier than running to the store every time you need anything!). With the app right at your palm, setting up an Amazon Baby Registry just makes sense! Here’s what you need to know when signing up.

There’s a lot going on on the Amazon home page, which can make it hard to know where to go to start your registry. On the top of the page, you’ll see “Account & Lists.” If you hover over this button, you’ll find “Baby Registry” on the dropdown menu on the left side under “Your Lists.” From there, you’ll create your registry.

As you set up your registry, you’ll be asked a couple of questions. Most of these are typical for any baby registry like your due date, if it’s your first baby, and your address. Amazon then asks if you would like to have any gift options like gift cards, a diaper fund, and group gifting. You’ll also be able to choose if you want to receive emails when items are purchased and for discounts. Once you’ve answered all of these questions, your registry will be ready to go.

Ready to set up your baby registry? Visit the Amazon Baby Registry website and click “Get Started.” Follow the prompts to enter your contact information, due date, and shipping address. You can also provide optional info such as baby’s gender, to make it easier for gift-givers. You can even write a note to let people know specific information to guide in their selections. >>The Benefits of Creating Your Registry with Amazon

It’s a super easy way to access all your favorite brands, whether you’re searching or browsing. (They don’t call it “Earth’s biggest selection” for nothing.) But another cool benefit? Amazon also offers Universal Registry, which means if you find something you want on another website, you can easily add it to your Amazon Registry.

>>A Free Welcome Box
When you start an Amazon Baby Registry and someone purchases $10 worth of items for you, you’ll receive a “welcome box” filled with items for both babies and parents. The estimated value is up to $35. The contents vary, but parents report receiving items including a muslin blanket, a bottle, diaper sample packs, wipes, breast pads, and trial-sized bottles of lotion and body wash. Pretty sweet surprise!

>>Completion Discount
One little-known benefit is the “completion discount.” Amazon offers a 10 percent discount (15 percent for Prime members!) on certain items from your registry starting 60 days before your due date and extending up to 180 days after your due date. So as the big day approaches (or passes), you can save some serious money if you still need a stroller, a high chair, and other larger items.

>>Diaper Discount
Babies go through quite a bit of diapers, especially during their first year. But with the Amazon baby registry, you can earn 20% off diapers during your baby’s first year when you reach $500 in registry spending. You can also combine this offer with Subscribe & Save for up to 40% off!

>>Universal Registry
Like we mentioned before, Amazon has a universal registry that allows you to save items from any website to your registry. It does require a little bit of setup that’s really easy once you know where to go.

Under “Accounts & Lists,” you’ll see the option “Save Items from the Web” on the left under lists. From there, all you’ll have to do is click install for the Amazon Assistant button then you’ll be able to use it to save items from anywhere.

>>Group Gifting
Tight budgets don’t always allow for a big-ticket baby gift, no matter how much someone wants to splurge. The good news is Amazon allows “group gifting” so gift-givers can chip in toward larger gifts. That means rather than receiving a whole bunch of smaller gifts, you just may get that swanky stroller after all!

>>Baby Registry Checklist
Amazon also has a registry checklist to make it easy for you to register for everything you need. You can access it at any time on your registry home page under “Add Items.”

The checklist is divided into 8 categories: Out & about, nursery, feeding, diapering, bathtime, health & safety, play & learn, and clothing. Under each of those categories, you’ll find subcategories. As you click on each subcategory, a list of relevant products will show up, which also helps keep you from blindly searching for baby gear.

>>90-Day Return Policy
What if your “tiny” baby is wearing 3 months clothes the day he’s born? No problem! You have 90 days to return most items people have purchased from your registry. So once the hustle and bustle of baby’s birth ease, you can send back anything that doesn’t fit or that you realized you won’t need.
